I-80 closed indefinitely through Nevada
A large snowstorm in the Sierras has shut down a series of roadways, including Interstate 80, for an undetermined amount of time.As of 11 a.m. on Tuesday, December 28th, the following
roadways remained closed due to winter weather:
State Route 20 between Nevada City and the I-80 junction
-State Route 89 from Harper’s Grade to Emerald Bay
-State Route 89 from Sierraville to Sattley
-State Route 49 from Marysville Road to Sattley
-State Route 70 from Jarbo Gap to Greenville Wye. This closure is due to a mudslide.
-State Route 174 from Memorial Park to Brunswick Road
Chains or snow tires are required on roads that are currently open. “Our maintenance crews are working hard to clear snow and add additional lane width on I-80 so we can reopen,”
